Bowl 360 Expands to Port Charlotte, Florida with Acquisition of Bowland
Bowland on Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte has been sold to New York–based Bowl 360, which plans to continue operating the location as a bowling center—but with a modern twist: state-of-the-art technology and enhanced entertainment offerings are on the way.
The terms of the sale remain undisclosed. Bowland had been a popular entertainment hub for six decades, a deeply rooted presence in the Charlotte County community. Currently, the center is owned by Pat and Lisa Ciniello, who have operated it since 2003. Their son Marc serves as vice president of operations, maintaining the family’s involvement in day-to-day operations.
Over the years, the Ciniellos have navigated numerous challenges—most recently major repairs following Hurricane Ian—to keep the fun rolling. Mary McDonald, who leads the call center operations and once managed Bowland directly, highlighted the facility’s resilience and community importance.
A Timeless Local Appeal
Bowland wasn’t just for casual bowlers. It hosted New Year’s Eve parties, local bowling leagues, and birthday celebrations—accumulating a loyal following across generations. The venue also featured Nemo’s restaurant, an arcade, and virtual reality games, making it a family-friendly entertainment destination.
As founder Pat Ciniello reflects, “We have made many lifelong friends here over the years,” acknowledging the emotional weight of the sale. That sentiment is compounded by plans to retire the Bowland brand, marking the end of an era—but not the end of fun for Bowland fans.
What’s Next with Bowl 360
The Bowl 360 team pledges to uphold Bowland’s legacy of providing a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all ages, while injecting new life into the venue through modern upgrades. The hope is to preserve its community soul while introducing fresh, high-energy experiences.
According to a report by Gulfshore Business, the longtime Port Charlotte entertainment center had been serving the community for six decades before the acquisition.
Meanwhile, the Ciniello family is shifting its focus to a new venture: FastTrax, which will feature Florida’s largest indoor go-kart track, duck-pin bowling, about 100 arcade games, and full food and beverage amenities. FastTrax will sit adjacent to their HeadPinz bowling center in South Fort Myers, near the Southwest Florida International Airport. They’ll also continue operating their East Naples HeadPinz location.
Bowl 360 Port Charlotte Expansion: Acquisition of Bowland
The Bowl 360 Port Charlotte expansion follows Bowl 360’s acquisition of Bowland, located on Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte. The center is now operating as Bowl 360 Port Charlotte and will receive additional updates to enhance entertainment offerings for local guests.
Bowland served Port Charlotte for six decades and was operated by the Ciniello family since 2003. Known for leagues, celebrations, and family-friendly fun, the venue established a deep community connection. Ownership transitions mark a new chapter for the space while honoring its history.
